TAKATOF is a volunteering social program, offers the nation’s youth meaningful opportunities to volunteer for important social causes.

 Tell me more about TAKATOF please?

TAKATOF connects the youth with relevant volunteering opportunities and encourages public service. TAKATOF youth are ambassadors of our nation representing a culture of support and the strength of our society’s core values.TAKATOF particularly offers young people meaningful opportunities to volunteer for humanitarian, social and community programs that serve those least able to help themselves. Embracing a commitment to social responsibility and public service, an adherence to strict integrity and ethics and community involvement helps to strengthen the core values of the program.

 Background about TAKATOF

Inspired by HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces. TAKATOF is a voluntary social program, established in 2007, designed by the Emirates Foundation to foster a culture of volunteering throughout the United Arab Emirates. Takatof mobilizes people and resources across the nation to deliver creative and sustainable solutions for proven community needs.

Albawadi Mall

 

This is the fifth day volunteer and it is the last day. Because of the winter is coming, TAKATOOF make campaign to distribute jackets for the clean boys, needy people and workers. In this campaign I saw a lot of poor people who need help. First, our supervisor went to TAKATOOF main center to bring the jackets. We start searching for the needy people near to the mall to give them the jackets; also we distribute safety Brochures for them. The purpose of this campaign is to protect the workers from health damage that it may cause by the low temperatures.

This is the fourth volunteer day. It was about collecting the clothes to distribute for the poor peoples; this campaign is sharing between TAKATOOF and Red crescent . This campaign it was in Albawadi Mall. We start our volunteer in assembly point near to the gate. They inform us before the volunteer that who have any old clothes they can bring it. We start collecting the clothes to send it to the red crescent . After that we separated in groups to open the boxes that the red crescent but it around the cities. Then we went back to the assembly point to but all the stuff together in the truck of the Red crescent .

Third day Volunteer

Alain Mall- Main gate

 

This is the third day for me to volunteer. This day our volunteer was about Blood donation. It was in Alain mall. We started our volunteer by preparing the place for the people who want to donate blood. After that we went around the mall to distribute some brochures to let the people know about this campaign and attract them to donate blood. There was a good amount of people who responded our call. The purpose of this campaign was to help the patients and save the lives for the other.

Second Day for Volunteer

Al Ain Sports Club for the Disabled

This is the second day for us in volunteer. Today we volunteer in Al Ain Sports Club for the Disabled. It was very nice day to work with this group of people. When we reach there, first we communicate with students Center to know how they deal with disabled. Then our supervisor takes us in orientation around the club to take an idea about the club and the place also to identify the best means of dealing with people with special needs. After that we see a basketball match between two groups of disable also our supervisor play with them. After that all of us sit in one place and we start to communicate with each others and we play some games with them to give them a feel that they are didn’t have any different between them and us and to forget disability.
